{ Basic Appearance } :

Calista is a pretty even mix of her parent's pelt patterns and colors. Her main fur color is a light-ish gray color, with her markings having brown tones to them and various splashes of white found around her muzzle, chest, stomach, paws, and tail. As a kit, she is petite and fluffy, with barely an ounce of muscle to be found amidst her kitten pudge. The majority of her soft fluff can be found on her cheeks and chest. She has a fragile, dainty appearance, and it is easy to see that one day she will grow into a graceful creature (or, at least, she hopes so, for while she does not hold her own physical beauty in high regard, she does admire those with poise).

Her distinguishing facial features include her gentle blue eyes and square, slightly rounded, muzzle. Again, her cheek fluff is ridiculous.

{ Voice } : As a young cat, her voice is high-pitched, and she is fairly softspoken. Her voice doesn't usually raise in volume any more than that, unless she gets panicked about something. The majority of the time she speaks slowly, often to the point of being hesitant with her words.

Patient ~ Ash is incredibly patient for one so young. Even if she'd much rather be playing with a moss ball outside, she will sit through almost anything that most others her age would find boring, all without complaining. She's never one to complain in the first place, to be honest. Her patience extends to pretty much anyone she comes into contact with; the only one she isn't very patient with is herself, and she gets easily frustrated when she cannot meet her own expectations. She's very good at tolerating the antics of others, even if they happen to begin annoying her. Of course, she politely does not call attention to this irritation in these cases. There is no chance of her ever really trying to rush into things, unless she happened to feel very strongly that something needed to be done immediately.

Determined ~ Although she is outwardly quiet and unassuming, she possesses a passionate desire to do well and succeed. Usually she takes a passive approach to life, standing aside and letting others have their moment of glory. But if she felt very strongly about something and legitimately wanted it, for whatever reason, she would put all her energy into making this a reality. She is very motivated to improve herself, and fully intends to be the best apprentice for whatever path she eventually goes down. Ash doesn't want to go through her whole life being a boring individual who can't do anything for herself, and she really wants nothing more to excel and make her loved ones proud of her, as well as show them that she doesn't need to be constantly protected all the time. She has her limitations, of course, but she is willing to put forth the effort to try and overcome them to the best of her ability. In addition, she does have a strong will. It just doesn't show much amidst her current insecurities.

Creative ~ She may not be incredibly smart, but Ash is good at coming up with interesting ideas or things to say. On occasion, she likes using her ideas to create something tangible. Whenever she gets bored, she often arranges rocks and leaves into patterns and designs on the ground - nothing fancy, but enough to show her potential. She finds the thought of creating intricate accessories out of simple objects like stone, vines, or bones absolutely fascinating.

Perceptive ~ Ashlee is pretty intuitive. She finds studying others very interesting, so she's become fairly in tune to the emotions of others. As a kitten who gets distracted by the wonders of nature very easily, this isn't super pronounced yet - except in the case of her family, whom she knows well enough to be able to differentiate between their various feelings. A simple flick of the ear can signal to her that one of them is feeling down, and she can tell when another is irritated from just a whisker twitch. She usually tries to respond to what she notices accordingly, always proceeding with caution so as not to further upset anyone and being a sympathetic listener when necessary.

Selfless ~ A good quality about Ash is that she is very willing to help others. Her generosity knows no bounds, and she will give up a lot of her time to go to someone's aid, if she thinks that they really need and/or deserve it. The only issue here is that she is often selfless to the point where she does not concern herself with her own well being. In her opinion, if someone is in need, then her own needs and desires momentarily come second, at least until she has succeeded in fulfilling her inclination to help out. Being selfless is great and all, but sometimes there's a point where you need to stop caring so much about others and focus on your own self. Ashlee has yet to figure this out.

Shy ~ Around strangers, Ash gets pretty timid. She may like watching cats go about their daily activities, but that doesn't mean she's great at associating with others. She gets quiet when meeting new cats, not really looking at them directly in the eye, and when she has to speak to them, her stutter comes out. She's not very good at making friends because of her shyness, and so she usually counts her siblings' friends as her own friends, despite the fact that she doesn't do much more than smile awkwardly when she's around them.

Dreamer ~ Ashlee daydreams a heck of a lot. For a tiny kit like herself, she's got some pretty big dreams, some of which aren't very plausible. But they make her happy, so that's all that matters right now. Her mind is constantly on the move, switching from one thing to another; one of her favorite things to fantasize about is the future. She likes to think of an eventual time when she can be tough like her sister, beautiful like her mother, and respected like her father. She also thinks fondly of a future love, like what her parents have. She thinks it's incredibly beautiful that two cats can care for each other so much, and she hopes that one day she can find a mate that's as perfect, in her opinion, as Kokkinos is to Eileen.

Curious ~ Like any other her age, this girl is very curious about everything, from her surroundings to the peculiar habits of others. Her big eyes take in everything she sees with a childlike wonder. For the most part, though, she doesn't go around asking hyper, rapid-fire questions about how things do what they do, the way other kits might. She marvels over objects and the like and wonders how they work, but she doesn't always voice her thoughts aloud. She might sit there and watch a leaf fall with a burning curiosity as to why it falls downward but never upward, but she won't make a peep about it. Not until later, when she is with someone she trusts to know everything. Eileen is almost always the one she goes to when she has questions. Sometimes, if Kokkinos is available, she tells him what's on her mind; she even goes to Tari, as she idolizes her sister and figures that she probably knows just as much as their parents. This latter option, however, doesn't always result in her getting the right answers, for obvious reasons.

Insecure ~ Some of Ashlee's biggest problems are her insecurities. There are quite a few things that have caused this. For one, she is ashamed of her inability to show real potential in anything. She's not very good at play-fighting and always loses, and her pouncing skills are severely lacking. She feels that, even though she's still just a kit and has a lot to learn, she ought to be skilled in at least something. But so far that doesn't seem to be happening. What makes it even worse is that, as a child of a deputy, she feels that a lot is expected of her; right now, she can't see herself meeting those expectations, and so she has come to the conclusion that she isn't worthy of being Kokkinos' daughter, or Eileen's, for that matter. She is constantly worried that one day her parents will look at her and see nothing but a disappointment. Meanwhile, she also feels fairly unmemorable in comparison to her siblings. After all, there are ten of them, and they are all incredibly talented and show much promise in their own special ways. She's envious, for example, of Ken's logical reasoning, and of Tari's bold, brash manner. Compared to all that, her opinion is that she herself isn't all that special. Her parents tell her she's pretty, but of course they would say that, wouldn't they? And even if that's true, good looks are nothing compared to her siblings' qualities. She wishes she could be more like them. For the most part, she doesn't like talking about her issues, as she feels uncomfortable with calling attention to herself.

Fretful ~ Ash is kind of a worrywart. She doesn't deal well under extreme duress or stress, and, if in a situation that can quickly turn dangerous, she is incredibly jumpy. It is during these times that she steps out of that super quiet, sweet demeanor, actually, as then she can become easily panicked, leading to her reacting in ways that may seem out of character to those who know her; for instance, she becomes more terse, her voice raising in volume and pitch slightly, and she is prone to emotional outbursts. If anyone is with her during these times, it is very likely that they would become irritated with her. If they happened to get out of immediate danger and survived, Ash would return to normal, albeit very mortified by her previous uncontrollable actions, and would apologize profusely to her companion for being such a pain. Right now, as a kit, this trait isn't too bad. She'll reluctantly go out with her siblings on their little exploration adventures, not wanting to be left by herself at the camp, and the whole time will nervously tell everyone that they should really get back before they get into trouble. That's about the extent of her fretting. This trait will become a lot more pronounced when she grows up.

Sensitive ~ Ashlee gets hurt easily, both physically and emotionally. She's not the sturdiest of kittens, so she often falls and injures herself. Never very badly, but it still hurts a lot. She tries not to make a fuss, though. The same is true with her emotions. The slightest insulting remark, whether intentionally mean or not, causes her to feel as wounded as though she'd just run into a thorn bush. In these moments all she wants to do is cry, but she does her best to stifle her hurt feelings and not show them, as that is surely a sign of weakness. If whoever made a remark was being intentionally mean and continued taunting her, she might actually sit there and silently take all the teasing, lacking the courage to tell them to stop but also not wanting to back down. This is not exactly a great way to handle this.

Perfectionist ~ As mentioned before, Ash expects a lot of herself, and she gets annoyed when she cannot do something exactly the way she wants to. She strives for perfection in whatever she does, even though such perfection does not exist. Her idea of a good life is to be super talented at everything and to be friends with everyone. In her mind, she has no time for her flaws, and would gladly get rid of them if she could. This is not very reasonable, obviously, and one day she's probably going to get a reality check. When she can't do something to perfection or, simply, can't do it at all, she quietly sulks and refuses to talk to anyone until she has calmed down.

In the beginning

One fine day, Kokkinos and Eileen decided to get jiggy with it, and before they knew it, there was a mini party going on in Eileen's womb. It was pretty rad, actually, considering that there were only six partygoers. Ashlee was one of them, though, knowing her, she probably didn't really dance around in there as much as the others, since she isn't exactly the partying type.

Finally, they all got tired being in a closed space together for so long, so they tumbled out into the open and voila, they were born. Ashlee, of course, was the last to come out; predictable, considering how much of a worrywart she is when it comes to new places.

On my own except not completely so that's kind of good

Much to Ashlee's dismay, the apprentice ceremony eventually had to come around, during which her family was separated into their own tribes. Her worst fears had finally been realized. But she took comfort in the fact that her brother, Levian - no, Tanuki, was with her. And she had to admit, her new name, Calista, was pretty. Elegant, even. But leaving the rest of her family was still one of the hardest things she'd ever done.

~ I named her after my bae Lady Calista from one of my favorite video games for the Wii, The Last Story. Ash would probably do anything to be as ladylike yet badass as her omfg

~ Originally I wanted to name her Zelda, for obvious reasons, but after I designed her, I didn't think the name suited her very well.

~ She mostly keeps to herself and isn't very comfortable with talking about her own feelings. It's a little easier to speak with her family, especially Eileen, who she's most open with, but even then she'd rather not burden them with her problems.

~ Currently more of an introvert, but will probably become slightly more extroverted with age. Her quiet demeanor will never fade, though, and she'll always need her alone time.

~ Would really love to stay with her mother, wherever that may be.

~ Is interested in one day meeting her namesakes.

~ She loves all her siblings, including the adopted ones, equally. Even if she wanted to pick a favorite, she wouldn't, because she would hate to be unfair to anyone.

~ She doesn't like to draw attention to the fact that she is the daughter of the Earth Tribe deputy and will only tell others who her father is if they ask directly; she is, however, very proud to be his daughter, even if she doesn't think she's worthy of that most of the time.

~ She aspires to be like her mother one day. Ash thinks that Eileen is quite possibly the most queenlike cat in existence, even more so than the female tribe leaders. Not that she actually knows any of the female tribe leaders so uhhh.

~ Very deep sleeper.

~ She is fascinated by the idea of being able to climb up trees and see the whole land, even though heights actually scare her.

~ Ash is terrified of snakes. They render her completely vulnerable, as she freezes up whenever she sees one.

~ Not very strong physically.

~ She enjoys playing with her brothers and sisters, but usually sits out on playfighting, as it often gets too rough for her. Even if her siblings try to be gentle, she would still opt out of that, as she wouldn't want them to try so hard and not have fun for her sake.

~ In the future, she will become very eloquent with her words.

~ She is a good listener.

~ It is hard for her to make friends, since she's not very good at putting herself out there.

~ Apparently she looks like a root beer float.

~ If she doesn't have at least one of her family members with her in her future tribe, she will probably have a panic attack.

~ Occasionally stutters, especially when she is overwhelmed.

~ Every now and then she will try to make half-hearted jokes or puns, but either no one hears her say anything or they aren't as funny to everyone else as they are to herself.

~ Considering that her dad is pretty much a tree... Ashlee's spirit tree would be a willow, which symbolizes "fulfilling wishes of the heart, learning from the past, inner vision, and dreams".

It had probably not been a good idea to yell for that long, because she had now been rewarded with way more dust in her mouth than had gone in earlier. Spitting as much of it out as she could, she grimaced and shakily got to her paws. The idea that someone was out there appeared to have unfrozen her, although that didn't mean she was any less frightened out of her fur. Perhaps this was because she still had an unconscious desire to prove to everyone that she feared nothing. Or maybe she just wanted to stand to try and get a glimpse of who was approaching. Not that that would help much, since she couldn't see anything. She turned from left to right, unsure of where to expect the other cat to come from. She could still hear her name, mainly due to the wind blowing the cat's voice in her direction. It did appear to be getting closer, though... and suddenly, she caught the scent of the other cat right when she recognized the voice. Kyer! For once in the time that she had known him, she was extremely glad that he was on the way. She despised the idea of having to be helped out of this as though she were a kit that didn't know where to place its paws, but... if she had to have anyone come to her aid, then Kyer would be her first choice, as irritating and infuriating as he was. Anyway, he already knew about her fear of storms, so she wouldn't have to put up a false front about that around him. "Kyer!" she called, coughing a little after she'd spoken. The volume of the wind seemed to increase then, and she froze once more, panic threatening to bubble up again. And suddenly Kyer was there, and even though she had long ago decided that she didn't like him in the slightest, she couldn't help but feel furiously relieved that he was there, and in a completely out-of-character moment, most likely brought on by deliriousness, she practically buried her face in the fur along his side. Of course, once she realized what she was doing, she frowned and jerked away. Obviously his idiocy and ignorance of personal space was beginning to rub off on her. "Took you long enough," she huffed at him, trying to hide her gratefulness and hoping that he hadn't noticed that awkward thing she'd just done because she really had enough to deal with right now. At least now she didn't feel as petrified as she had a little earlier, now that she was in the company of someone she was relatively used to. Not willing to speak again and choke on another mouthful of sand, she narrowed her eyes and stared in various directions. Now what? Kyer's here, but do we even know where to go? Suddenly she felt anger slowly flood over her. Why the hell was Kyer out here in the first place? She knew he was kind of dumb, but even she hadn't expected him to be that much of an idiot. Was he trying to get himself killed? Why didn't he just stay back at the camp?? If he died, she was going to strangle his dead body's neck, and it would serve him right, of an idiot. Her gratitude evaporated, and she glared in the opposite direction of him, practically fuming. If they got out of this alive, she was going to give him a piece of her mind, dammit.
